RMYF Support Our Troops and 9/11 Event Rolling Meadows Youth Football and Cheer SUPPORT OUR TROOPS From: McDonald, Tracey L - SCPO MIL USA USNR USARCENT 1st TSC To: Rolling Meadows Mustangs Date: Wed, Oct 5, 2011 at 2:52 AM Subject: Care package To the Rolling Meadows Youth Football and Cheer, My name is Tracey McDonald, I am in the US Navy and I'm currently stationed in Arifjan Kuwait. I am halfway through my tour here (200 days in) and I received a care package today from "Operation Support Our Troops" that was sponsored by your team, photo included (which I promptly hung up in my office). I looked you guys up on the web so that I could take a moment to thank you sincerely for participating in something that benefits so many. I opened the box and distributed the things out to various Sailors that I have working here. I have 73 Sailors and we perform Customs for the personnel and the equipment that leave this area of operations and go back to the states. We are going to have a group photo done in this next week and once it is done I will forward a copy of the photo so that you can see the Sailors supported. Again, thank you for your support. We appreciate it very much. Very Respectfully, YNCS Tracey McDonald Senior Enlisted Leader NAVELSG Forward - Alpha DSN: 430-7900 Cell: 9942-6046 ( Thu, Oct 13, 2011 at 11:17 PM ) Good morning! Have you been receiving RMYF e-mail? In an effort to be environmentally conscience, deliver timely announcements, and move into the 21st Century, Rolling Meadows Youth Football and Cheer has implemented an e-mall communication system for the 2011 season. If your family is/has a current player or cheerleader in the program, you should be receiving communications from RMYF via our e-mail service Mail Chimp. If not, please contact the RMYF Publicity Committee at RMYF48@hotmail.com to confirm future correspondence, get in on the action and in the know. Why join RMYF? Here are just a few reasons: We have an exceptional youth football and cheer program -- the best around! Since 1976, Rolling Meadows Youth Football and Cheer (RMYF) is recognized as an outstanding, well respected, volunteer-based, youth tackle football and cheer organization. Our program is steeped in strong tradition and adheres to fundamentally sound values that champion each athlete and family. RMYF is solely operated by parent, family, and community volunteers independent of municipal governing bodies. Directed by the RMYF Board, family participation is vital in helping the program run smoothly throughout the season -- and year to year. RMYF is regionally affiliated with Chicagoland United Youth Football and Cheer (CUYF/CUYC) <www.chicagolanduyf.com> which is composed of 30+ suburban and city football programs (forming a Mid-West Conference). Chicagoland UYF provides well-balanced, diverse, top-tier travel football and cheer competition between some of the area's best youth organizations -- many feeding into a number of successful Illinois high school programs. Generally, from the 30+ member towns involved, divisions are aligned by proximity helping alleviate extensive travel. Nationally, RMYF is affiliated with United Youth Football (UYF) and United Youth Cheer (UYC). Both organizations are preeminent, vibrant, and among the largest in the country for youth football and youth cheerleading. National Football Championships and National Cheer Competitions are held in Florida shortly after regular season conference playoffs. In 2010, all of our football teams qualified for division playoffs (many of our teams do each year) and strive to compete at UYF Nationals in Florida against the very top teams in the country. Three of our 8th grade All American players were chosen to the Mid-West All-Star Team and played in the Championship Game in Orlando in December. Of these three players, one RMYF All American was nominated and selected as a National West All-Star and played in early January 2011 at Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida along side the country's best youth football All-Stars. RMYF Cheer had an exceptional 2010 season. Our 12 & Under Cheer squad placed 3rd at the National Cheer Competition also held in Orlando! Our 10 & Under and 14 & Under Cheer squads both finished 3rd in the IRCA State Championships! Year after year, RMYF Cheer continually shines as the finest in the area. And while we enthusiastically cheer our football teams from the sidelines during the season, our main goal is to be the best at cheer competitions. To that end, along with a regular season practice schedule, we offer cheer classes and clinics - many run in conjunction with R.M. High School coaches and cheerleaders. RMYF is committed to academic achievement. RMYF values Student Athletes, not just athletes who happen to be students. At the end of each season, every athlete who qualifies** is honored with a trophy and T-shirt recognizing good grades. 8th graders that are leaving the program and submit report cards that qualify**, receive a savings bond from RMYF. In addition, Chicagoland UYF/UYC awards 8th graders with exemplary grades a Savings Bond award. In 2010, two of our scholar athletes (one cheerleader and one football player) received $1,000 and $500 Savings Bonds, respectively. (**Note: all grades are computed and qualify based on a formula that is provided to RMYF from Chicagoland UYF.) RMYF understands developmental youth football and cheer. We have experienced coaches at every level -- more than adequate for a beneficial athlete/coach ratio. With multiple teams available, once you sign up, you are put on a roster - never a waiting list - and every athlete is guaranteed playing time. There is no “draft”, no weight limitations - all athletes get the same attention, have the same goals, and generally play and cheer at the same home field on the same day. RMYF also offers tackle football for ages 6-8 (our Bandit & Mighty Mite teams). We start young players off in gear right away, teach the basics of football and sportsmanship at an early age so they have the ability to succeed when moving up to older levels. Beginning with the Cadet level (ages 8-9-10), football players become eligible for playoffs and National Championships. We have an outstanding youth football and cheer organization in Rolling Meadows; not so enormous that your son or daughter is just a number on the field or a position on a squad; but big enough that our football teams and cheer squads have the ability to play to win, and usually do. If you have any questions regarding RMYF football, please call Scott Wulfram at 847-848-6158. For further information regarding RMYF Cheer, call Kim Atz O’Brien at 847-321-5910.
